Son and Moon is the creative home of husband-and-wife artists Ed and Kala Washington. Together, we bring music, visual art, photography, and design under one roof, believing that the best work comes from curiosity, collaboration, and genuine human connection. While each of us has our own creative path, we've found that we're at our best when we create together.

Ed Washington

Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Ed has spent more than a decade building a respected career in music. Growing up in a musical family, singing was simply a part of everyday life, and that early love naturally grew into a lifelong passion. Alongside music, he was always drawing, creating, and finding new ways to express himself.

Ed earned his bachelor's degree in Music and has worked professionally as a singer, songwriter, producer, engineer, and creative director. His work includes major label credits, and he has become a familiar face in Alaska's music community through his performances, collaborations, and dedication to helping other artists bring their ideas to life. Whether he's producing in the studio, teaching vocal technique, capturing portraits behind the camera, or writing his next song, Ed is driven by a love for storytelling and helping people discover their own creative voice.

Kala Jenkins Washington

Kala is a multidisciplinary artist whose work blends creativity with communication. Raised in Anchorage, Alaska, she grew up surrounded by both art and advertising. With parents who owned an advertising business, she was introduced early to the power of visual storytelling, branding, and thoughtful design. Outside of that creative influence, she spent her childhood playing sports, watching movies, making mixtapes in her bedroom, collaging, and constantly finding new ways to express herself. Those experiences eventually evolved into a passion for visual art, photography, and design.

She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology with minors in Art and Journalism & Communications, along with an Occupational Endorsement Certificate in Graphic Design. Her education combines an understanding of people with strong visual communication skills, allowing her to create work that is both meaningful and intentional. Whether she's painting, illustrating, photographing, or designing a brand identity, Kala believes that great design is more than something beautiful—it should tell a story, evoke emotion, and create a genuine connection.
